About Our Temple
Established in 1930 with the approval of farm management for the Kenting Seng farm laborers, this temple holds the distinction of being the oldest in the region. By 1959, around 76 Hindu families resided in the area, utilizing the temple for artistic, cultural, and religious events. Initially serving the farm workers, the temple remained standing after the workers' living quarters were relocated due to a nearby well running dry. The current temple structure was erected in 1989. In 1984, the Guthrie company planted palm trees in their farm and initiated a housing project on a 150-Acre plot of land. Consequently, authorities requested the temple's relocation, offering RM 96,000.00 in compensation. Led by Mr. Maniam Marimuthu, the temple management rejected the offer, insisting that the farm management must provide new land for the temple along with covering the entire cost. Both parties remain steadfast in their positions. The issue arises from the fact that the farm is owned by the Genting Plantation Company, with only one Hindu family currently working on the premises. Despite the challenges, the temple administration continues to diligently care for the temple land, considering Sri Mahamariamman as its spiritual source. The temple is blessed by the presence of deities Vinayaga, Muruga, and Muniswar, who bestow blessings upon devotees.

In the religious festival of 2016, a worshipper experienced a sense of weightiness while circumambulating the Murthy Utsava temple, particularly when exploring the rear of the temple's molasthanam. In an effort to uncover the cause, officials conducted an excavation of the area, revealing that the head of the Goddess Kaliamman's statue was buried in the ground. Following this discovery, a special pooja was conducted on the goddess's body, a shrine was erected in front of the temple, and the consecration ceremony took place at that location.
