About Our Temple
The Maragatha Vinayagar Temple was established in 1970 in Serdang Lama. Initially, a small room housed a Ganesha statue, attracting worshippers. In 2004, a government building took over the temple's original location, prompting the government to allocate a new space measuring 11,000 square feet (0.25 acres) located 100 meters away from the current temple. Construction of the new temple commenced in 2005, culminating in the first Kumbabhishekam ceremony on February 20, 2011. The temple venerates deities such as Maragata Vinayagar, Arasamaratu Vinayagar, Mariamman, Murugan, and Vairavar. Monthly religious talks are a regular feature at this temple. Annually, on Vinayagar Chaturthi, an elaborate celebration takes place, drawing a substantial number of devotees. The Vairavar pooja in this temple is particularly popular, with devotees participating enthusiastically. During the festival, a procession typically winds through the residential area up to the temple.
