About Our Temple
The Pechiyamman Temple, located in Kampar, Perak, was established in 1960 by the local residents of the area. The temple's origin traces back to the Tamil community living there, who had long envisioned building a temple within their settlement. At that time, a resident stumbled upon a stone beneath a tree and accidentally fell over it. The stone resembled the face of a goddess, which led them to believe it embodied the divine presence of Pechiyamman. They set up a small hut and began worshiping the stone as Pechiyamman, their guardian deity. Subsequently, a small management group was formed, and with the support of the community, they constructed a modest temple to house the deity. Over time, with contributions from devotees, the temple underwent renovations and upgrades. Today, it is formally registered, and all rituals and festivals are conducted with devotion and grandeur. The Aadi festival celebrated at this temple is particularly significant and remains a major event for the local community.
