About Our Temple
The Sri Siva Subramaniam Temple is situated in Kampung Kepayang, Gopeng, Perak. Back in 1896, this area was known for its tin mining activities. During excavation work, laborers uncovered a buried statue of Murugan. The temple was subsequently constructed in the same year, with the primary Murugan statue being enshrined inside a cave. While the original statue remains within the cave, a new and larger one has been installed for use during prayers. The cave takes on a U-shaped structure, featuring a spacious area where the main shrine is situated. According to the temple secretary, the most significant festival celebrated here is Thaipusam, which draws a large crowd. This temple is the sole Hindu cave temple in the vicinity of Ipoh and is a major attraction for tourists.
