About Our Temple

Situated along the Batu Berendam river in Malacca, this temple has a history dating back 100 years. A century ago, the Hindu community marked Thaipusam for Lord Murugan with four Nandipethama and a spear (Vel) on government land adjacent to the Melaka Tampin railway. In 1965, aided by the state government, land and grants were acquired for the construction of the temple. Through the dedicated efforts of Mr. Ramasamy and the support of numerous individuals, the temple was completed in 1966 and officially registered in 1972. In 2002, a Chinese landowner offered to sell approximately 1.73 Acres of land near the temple. Through the diligent work of the then-president, Mr. Muthiah, and contributions from the public, the land was successfully purchased in the temple's name. Presently, construction is underway for a hall on the acquired land.
