About Our Temple

The Sri Subramaniyar Swami Temple is situated in Kampung Sungai Terap, Batu Gajah, Perak. This temple was founded in 1925 by an individual named Mr. Malai Perumal Pillai. He initially placed a spear (Vel) under a tree and subsequently constructed a small hut using wooden planks and a zinc roof for prayer. Many devotees from Sungai Terap frequented this temple, as Lord Murugan was believed to bestow blessings upon them. Under the guidance of the new temple management, some renovations have been made. The temple has also been officially registered. The grand celebrations of Pangguni Uthiram and Thaipusam take place every year, attracting a significant following of devotees.
