About Our Temple
The Sri Dhandayuthapani Temple was built in the 1890s by the Chettiar community living in the Tanjong Malim area. The Chettiar community was involved in various businesses at that time, and with the intention of having a temple in their residential area, they established the temple dedicated to Lord Dhandayuthapani (Murugan). Over the years, the temple has undergone various developments, with notable additions such as the Raja Gopuram and the multi-purpose hall. These improvements serve as significant milestones in the temple's growth. The temple is now officially registered, and all rituals and festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm. It has become an important place of worship for the local community. Festivals like Thaipusam and Vaikasi Visakam are celebrated with special grandeur at the temple.
